Cardiac anesthesiologist with a physician-led medical group at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL, a Level I trauma center. The role is dedicated to cardiac cases at a single center, with no cross-coverage or non-cardiac call.
- Setting
- Advocate Christ Medical Center, a Level I trauma center with more than 105,000 emergency visits annually; single-center practice with anesthesia tech, nursing and APP support. Epic EMR.
- The work
- Anesthesia for cardiac bypass cases (CABG, valve, VAD, transplant), thoracic, major vascular, TEVAR, EVAR, TAVR, structural heart procedures, and cardiac patients having non-cardiac surgery.
- Schedule
- Guaranteed post-call days; no mandatory cross coverage of other sites.
- Call
- Approx. one 1st call every other week, one 2nd call every other week, and approx. one weekend call per month. No non-cardiac call.
- Patients
- Cardiac cases from simple to complex; 2,500+ bypass cases per year, plus heart transplant, VAD and structural heart procedures.
- What the pay includes
- Eligible for student loan forgiveness program and/or sign-on bonus; relocation assistance up to $12,000; dedicated CME time.
- Requirements
- Completed accredited anesthesiology residency; board-eligible or board-certified in Anesthesiology; TEE training and certification required. Cardiac fellowship and TEE board certification preferred.
