- Setting
- Atrium Health Cabarrus, a 457 bed tertiary care hospital, with 17 cardiologists and more than 18 cardiology APPs; CMR and structural CT at Carolinas Medical Center, an 874 bed quaternary facility.
- The work
- Inpatient service including a 20 bed CCU, outpatient clinics, and imaging: CMR reading at CMC, remote CT reads, structural echo and TEE at AH Cabarrus. Weekly system-wide structural conference expected.
- Schedule
- Service in week long blocks, approximately 10 weeks per year, or about one week every 5–6 weeks. Other weeks split between clinic and imaging, avoiding back to back clinic days when possible.
- Call
- Weekend coverage approximately 9 weekends per year, or about Q6. 24/7 in house APP coverage limits overnight call; imaging call shared among imaging trained cardiologists.
- Patients
- Critically ill cardiac patients in the CCU, including mechanical circulatory support, ECMO and advanced devices; a significant portion are post surgical cardiac patients.
- What the pay includes
- Relocation assistance and CME allowances.
- Requirements
- BE/BC in Cardiovascular Disease; BE/BC Echo (Level III for structural echo); BE/BC Nuclear (SPECT MPI, with PET MPI); BE/BC Cardiac MRI (level III) and/or BE/BC CT.
