Internal medicine role at Ascension St. Vincent Jennings in North Vernon, IN, taking over the patient panel of a retiring physician in a mixed outpatient and inpatient practice. Monday - Friday clinic with a 1:4 weekend hospitalist rotation; the site is in an HPSA and/or MUA/P area.
- Setting
- Critical Access Hospital with 18 licensed beds and 4 swing beds; no ICU or pediatric inpatient requirements. Established team of 4 physicians and 4 Advanced Practice Providers.
- The work
- Outpatient clinic plus minimal inpatient rounding, assuming a retiring physician's panel and mentoring APPs in the practice.
- Schedule
- Monday - Friday clinic schedule with 1:4 weekend rotation.
- Call
- 1:4 weekend hospitalist rotation; one onsite evaluation before 10 am, then phone availability for the rest of the shift. An APP hospitalist program has reduced physician hospital shift volume.
- Patients
- Young adults (mid-20s) to geriatrics; underserved, high Medicare/Medicaid population in Jennings County.

- Requirements
- MD or DO; Board Certified or Board Eligible; Indiana medical license before hire. Advanced Life Support preferred. New residents welcome to apply.
