Employed OB/GYN hospitalist role at Ascension St. Vincent Women & Infants Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, a Level IV Perinatal Center opened in 2024. Covers inpatient obstetrics, labor deck management and emergency GYN surgery, with resident teaching and 24-hour or 12-hour shift options.
- Setting
- Hospital-based at a Level IV Perinatal Center with a Level IV NICU (opened 2024) within Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis, a Level I Trauma and Transplant Center. 24/7 MFM support and 24-hour dedicated anesthesia.
- The work
- Evaluate OB triage patients, manage unassigned deliveries, manage the labor deck and provide emergency GYN surgical coverage (e.g., ectopic pregnancy, ovarian torsion). Mentor OB/GYN residents; work with midwives and community OB/GYNs.
- Schedule
- Full-time; 78 24-hour shifts per year or 156 12-hour shifts per year.
- Patients
- High-acuity inpatient obstetric and emergency gynecologic patients, including OB triage, unassigned deliveries, ectopic pregnancy and ovarian torsion.
- What the pay includes
- Base salary, incentive bonuses, commencement bonus and relocation bonus. Malpractice coverage with tail.
- Requirements
- Board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology; MD or DO; Indiana medical license before hire. Preferred: 3 years of OB/GYN clinical experience, emergency GYN surgical proficiency, Advanced Life Support.
