Part-time OB hospitalist role at Ascension St. Vincent Women & Infants Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, a Level IV Perinatal Center opened in 2024. The role covers inpatient obstetrics, labor deck management and emergency GYN surgery, with resident teaching and 24/7 MFM support.
- Setting
- Employed position within Ascension Medical Group at a Level IV Perinatal Center with a Level IV NICU, opened 2024, on a campus with a Level I Trauma and Transplant Center. 24/7 MFM support and 24-hour dedicated anesthesia coverage.
- The work
- Evaluate OB triage patients, manage unassigned deliveries and labor deck, and provide emergency GYN surgical coverage. Mentor OB/GYN residents and work with nurse-midwives and community OB/GYN attendings.
- Schedule
- Part-time, with 24-hour and 12-hour shifts available. Annual commitment of 36 24-hour shifts per year or 78 12-hour shifts per year.
- Patients
- High-acuity inpatient obstetric patients and GYN emergencies such as ectopic pregnancy and ovarian torsion.
- What the pay includes
- Base salary, incentive bonuses, commencement bonus and relocation bonus. Malpractice coverage with tail.
- Requirements
- Board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology; MD or DO; Indiana medical license before hire. Preferred: 3 years of OB/GYN clinical experience, emergency GYN surgical proficiency and Advanced Life Support.
