Physician Assistant role with a Neurosurgery practice at Ascension Illinois, part of a Comprehensive Stroke Center at Alexian Brothers. The team covers inpatient and outpatient neurosurgery at two acute care hospitals and a rehab facility.
- Setting
- Hospital-based inpatient/outpatient practice; 387 bed hospital, Level II trauma, 36 bed ICU, 24/7 Intensivist service and a dedicated Neurosurgery floor.
- The work
- Cover inpatient census, first call ER, consults and rounding, and coordinate inpatient surgeries. Assisting in the OR is optional.
- Call
- On-call rotation for holidays, weekends and PTO coverage.
- Patients
- Adult and pediatric neurosurgery patients, inpatient and outpatient.
- Requirements
- NCCPA-certified PA (or board certified NP); eligible for state license and DEA. Critical Care or Neuroscience bedside nursing experience required; BLS within 30 days; 1 year of experience preferred.
