- Setting
- Academic tertiary teaching hospital and referral center for Central Texas, with multiple residency and fellowship programs. Faculty appointment through Baylor College of Medicine is expected.
- The work
- Inpatient and outpatient heart failure and transplant consultation, rotating on the inpatient cardiac transplant service. May teach cardiology fellows, residents and students; optional cath procedures and ECHO reads for VAD and transplant.
- Call
- Expected call 6 - 8 weeks a year in Temple.
- Patients
- Advanced heart failure, heart transplant and VAD patients; approximately 50 heart replacements annually. Procedures include right heart catheterization and implantable pulmonary artery monitors.
- Requirements
- Fellowship trained, board certified or board eligible, and UNOS qualified for cardiac transplant care. Texas medical license by start date.
