Employed, shift-based trauma and acute care surgery role at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Hillcrest, an ACS-verified Level II Trauma Center in Waco, TX. You would join an established team as the sixth trauma surgeon, supported by two APPs.
- Setting
- Full-service community hospital and regional referral center with an ACS-verified Level II Trauma Center, a 24-bed ICU, a dedicated 24-hour OR suite and four da Vinci robotic systems.
- The work
- Trauma and acute care surgery consults while on call, with an opportunity for surgical critical care coverage in the ICU and an elective general surgery practice.
- Schedule
- Shift-based position. Two APPs provide day-shift coverage on a 7-on/7-off schedule.
- Call
- Responsible for trauma and acute care surgery consults while on call; home call for acute care surgery is possible.
- Patients
- Trauma, acute surgical and critical care patients from Waco and surrounding Central Texas communities.
- What the pay includes
- Salary, productivity bonus and relocation assistance.
- Requirements
- MD/DO with fellowship training in Trauma, Surgical Critical Care or Acute Care Surgery; BC/BE in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care; Texas license; FACS when qualified; ATLS, BLS/ACLS and PALS. Laparoscopic experience preferred.
