Staff physiatrist role with CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic and CHRISTUS St. Michael's in Texarkana, Texas, joining an established practice with room for growth. Pay is a first-year income guarantee followed by RVU-based compensation, with an option to train as Associate or Assistant Medical Director of Rehabilitation Services.
- Setting
- Employed practice on a campus with a 311-bed acute care hospital (Level III Emergency Department) and a 50-bed Rehabilitation hospital; non-trauma facility. Epic EMR in clinic and hospital.
- The work
- Clinic hours, hospital rounds and call, working with a dedicated rehabilitation team. Option to be assigned Associate or Assistant Medical Director of Rehabilitation Services, mentored by the Medical Director.
- Schedule
- No set clinic hours; physicians set their own cadence between clinic, hospital rounds and call. Patients admitted 7 days per week; discharges typically on weekdays.
- Call
- Call is part of the role; an after-hours nurse triage service eases call duties, and hospitalists cover after-hours and weekends. An in-house PA-C provides non-rehab clinical care Mon-Fri daytime.
- Patients
- Primarily stroke patients. No acute spine, heads or complex amputees.
- What the pay includes
- First-year income guarantee, then RVU-based compensation rewarding individual performance. Sign-on and relocation allowance.
- Requirements
- BC/BE, residency trained in Rehabilitation Medicine; unrestricted Texas license at start and Texas registered DEA. Upcoming graduating residents encouraged.
