- Children's hospital in New Orleans with a 54-bed Level III-C NICU and a 26 bed PICU; a new children's hospital is scheduled to be completed in 2027.
- The work
- Anesthesia for cardiac and non-cardiac procedures across the spectrum of pediatric heart disease, mostly congenital cardiac cases, working with CRNAs at a typical 1:1 ratio. Adult cases available if desired; academic time possible.
- Schedule
- Post call day off if staying past a specified time. Potential to work academic time into schedule.
- Call
- Tiered call system; 1st call is divided equally among team members.
- Patients
- Infants to teenagers, including heart transplant and VAD patients, plus an adult congenital heart population. ~250 bypass cases and ~500 cath lab cases per year.
- What the pay includes
- CME time.
- Requirements
- BC/BE fellowship-trained pediatric anesthesiologist with sub-fellowship training in pediatric cardiac anesthesia or experience with pediatric cardiac anesthesia.
