About this job
Pediatrician role with Sutter East Bay Medical Group in Oakland, CA, rounding on well babies in the newborn nursery. Coverage does not include ER, deliveries or NICU, and works in 24-hour shifts with onsite days and off-site call.
- Setting
- Hospital newborn service within Sutter East Bay Medical Group, a multi-specialty medical group with 600+ physicians and advanced practice clinicians in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. EMR is EPIC.
- The work
- Well-baby rounding and daily interdisciplinary meetings with OB and social work for discharge planning. NICU support and evaluations are available if needed.
- Schedule
- 24-hour shifts: 7am-4pm PST onsite, then off-site on call through 7am the next day.
- Call
- Off-site call from 4pm through 7am the next day for nurse clinical questions as part of each 24-hour shift.
- Patients
- Well newborns; no ER, deliveries or NICU coverage.
- What the pay includes
- Sign-on and productivity incentives (where applicable), annual CME reimbursement allowance and paid CME time, and possible relocation assistance and other recruitment incentives.
- Requirements
- Board certified or board eligible pediatrician with experience rounding on newborns.
