Employed hospitalist role at Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis (86th Street), an 800+ bed Level 1 trauma center. The posting emphasises a daily census of 15–16 patients with a dedicated admissions team and a 7-on/7-off schedule.
- Setting
- Flagship 800+ bed Level 1 Trauma Center with 8 Centers of Excellence, multiple residency and fellowship programs, a closed ICU, and Sunrise EMR. Team of over 80 providers with 22–23 physician teams daily.
- The work
- Rounding on adult medical units, including the burn center and brain and spine center, while a dedicated admissions team handles intake. Procedures are optional; teaching exposure with residency and fellowship programs.
- Schedule
- 7-on/7-off, including 14 jeopardy days, allowing for two 2–3 week breaks during the year.
- Patients
- Adults across diverse units; daily census of 15–16 patients. ICU patients are managed by dedicated intensivists.
- What the pay includes
- Eligible for public student loan forgiveness (PSLF).
- Requirements
- MD/DO, board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine; Indiana medical license before hire. ALS preferred. IM strongly preferred (rare FM exceptions); new graduates considered; hospitalist experience a plus.
