- Academic flagship hospital, ACS verified and state designated Level I Trauma facility, with a 24 hour, 365 days / year dedicated OR suite, an established STICU and a large general surgery residency.

- Trauma and emergency general surgery consults, STICU and trauma rounding, OR coverage including elective general surgery; teaching, mentorship, ATLS/ATOM/ASSET instruction, research, PI, TQIP and NSQIP, and regional outreach.
- Call
- In house trauma call is expected, with dedicated call rooms. Resident coverage at all times.
- Patients
- Trauma, emergency general surgery and critical care patients; more than 3000 trauma registry patients per year. Geriatric Trauma Service with a full complement of APPs.
