Gould Medical Group (Sutter Health) seeks a Hematology/Oncology Medical Director in Modesto, CA to lead its oncology service line across Modesto, Stockton, and Tracy as a new cancer center is built. The role is 0.75 FTE clinical and 0.25 FTE leadership, with a $600,000 starting base salary.
- Setting
- Multi-specialty group of 600+ clinicians; multi-specialty location with lab, urgent care, and radiology on-site. New cancer center under construction. 8 medical oncologists and 5 radiation oncologists across the service area. EHR: Epic.
- The work
- Clinical hem/onc plus leading the service line: physician recruitment (gyn onc first), chairing tumor boards, quality and accreditation strategy, growth planning, mentoring the group, and teaching internal medicine residents.
- Schedule
- 0.75 FTE clinical Hematology/Oncology and 0.25 FTE Medical Director; 4 1/2 day work week.
- What the pay includes
- Starting base salary of $600,000 with salary guarantee, RVU bonus potential during the guarantee, RVU-based compensation from year 2, sign-on bonus, individual performance bonus, relocation assistance, and annual CME allowance.
- Requirements
- MD or DO, BE/BC; board-certified in Medical Oncology (Hematology/Oncology background also considered). Active or eligible for California licensure. Established leadership reputation; prior cancer program leadership strongly preferred.
